June Lake Brewing
Autumn is Here ~ Big thanks to everyone that made it out to the first annual June Lake Autumn Beer Festival, it was an event not to be missed! We poured through all the beer, made some money for the June Lake Chamber of Commerce and a number of other local charities, and had an amazing stein holding contest! If you didn't make it out, check the video links below, and block off your calendars for next year. Well after months of searching, then a couple more waiting, our proposed location is finally going in front of the Mono County Planning Commission this Thursday at 10am. This meeting is a super big deal, and will dictate whether we're able to move forward with our plans to bring the first brewery to June Lake. As our biggest supporters we very strongly urge you to make your voice heard and let the Planning Commission know how badly you need a brewery in June Lake. We know 10am in the middle of the work week makes it hard for many of you to represent in person, so we've devised three options for you to let the powers that be know how it is:
Thanks, and Cheers! Justin/Sarah

June Lake Brewing Hurray 4 Snow ~ Weather came in Saturday afternoon in a flurry, Huzzah! In June snow level almost came down to the Village, and in our estimation was around 7,800', with upward of 4"+ above 8,500'. So what better to do than venture upwards on a Fern Creek to Yost Meadow hike. We don't know about you, but we're REALLY excited for June Mountain to resume operations this year on December 14th! In beer news, we're gearing up for the 1st Annual June Lake Autumn Beer Festival. That's right peoples, be here Saturday October 5th from 10am - 6pm to witness what's sure to become a yearly celebration of suds, sounds and the forth coming season of shredtacular awesomeness! We're super excited to have some of our good friends from Cismontane, Green Flash, Ballast Point, Pizza Port Cbad, and Mammoth Brewing Company pouring some of their tastiest fermulations for the thirsty masses. At $25 for six 10oz pours and a bratwurst, you can get your fill without breaking the bank. There will also be local craft and food vendors, a monumental chili cook-off, pie baking contest, and a photo showdown that's sure to capture the June Lake fall colors in vivid photocromatic splendor. Be there! Lastly on the location front, we're moving forward with the county, and we've got a pretty pivotal planning commission hearing on Thursday October 10th. The hearing is open to the public, and if you're around we highly encourage you to show up and support everything we're trying to do. After all, without all of you we're just another business doing pointless business stuff. We'll provide more details (i.e., location, exact time, proper costume selection, etc...) in our next news letter, so stay tuned. Until then, Cheers! Justin/Sarah June Lake Brewing
Party Time ~ Big thanks goes out to Mammoth Brewing Company for putting on the 18th annual Bluesapalooza and Grand Tasting. It did not disappoint. If you made it out you're probably still smiling, and if you didn't you really blew it and should go cry in the corner for a couple days. As if Bluesa wasn't enough, this past Saturday was the 59th annual June Lake Fireman's BBQ. Helping out behind the bar we ensured everyone was properly lubricated and kicked down tips to help fund our all volunteer department. Good times had by all... In other party news, we're working with the June Lake Chamber of Commerce to help organize the 1st annual June Lake Autumn Beer Festival slated for Saturday October 5th. Block off your calendars and start making excuses to your boss, because this is going to be an afternoon of drinking and decadence that can't be missed. With a visiting brewery roster that includes, but is hardly limited to Cismontane, Mammoth Brewing Company, Green Flash, and Tahoe Mountain Brewery, we're going to have a romp raging good time oompa-ing along to tunes from the Kalifornia Krauts. Complete with a totally artificially authentic German stein holding contest, the first ever Eastern Sierra Master Chili Cook Off, a pie baking competition and an autumn photo death match, we've got everything including the kitchen sink. Tragically we won't have our license yet, so JLB won't be available, but don't let that detour you cuz this is going to be the first JLABF of many and you know you want to say you were there to make history. Finally on the beer front, our Grant Lake Golden Tart turned out phenomenally and has been a big hit with everyone that's been lucky enough to try some. If you're around JL anytime soon, hit us up, and if we've got any left we'll be more than happy to let you take it for a test-drive and decide for yourself. Cheers! Justin/Sarah |
