June Lake Brewing
Spring Melt - Well it's been a minute and we apologize to all our intrawebbing compatriots for the lack of recent JLBooze Letters, guess you should just drop by the tasting room more often. To catch you up here's a brief recap:
On the beer front we've got some exciting stuff dropping for the 3rd Anniversary party June 21st, namely a collaboration beer with Cismontane, and a Pinot Noir barrel aged version of our Carson Peak American Strong Ale. Our current tap list:

KAPPPOOOWWW!!! 2017 has arrived with some water for California, and up high it has brought quite a bit of snow. As of last Friday (January 13th) the top of Mammoth Mountain had received 22.5' so far in 2017 (that's within 20" of the all time January record for Mammoth Mountain). Looking out the window this morning I see 6" of fresh in the town of June Lake and more coming over the Sierra Crest. Survey says... drop everything you're doing and come skiing in the next seven days as we should see a few new weather systems come through the Sierra. Oh yeah the face of June Mountain is ripping right now! On the Beer Front we're doing well with the re-release of Carson Peak American Strong - 13%, Rock-N-Dirt Milk Stout - 4.7%, and ESBzar - 7%. We have also been able to bring back many of our bottle offerings to-go from our tasting room (sorry only for sale physically in our tasting room) so you can share with your friends after your next most EPIC June Lake adventure. Tickets are on sale NOW for the 2017 June Lake Autumn Beer Festival to be held Saturday September 30th. Check out the eventbrite page for all the details - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-2017-5th-annual-june-lake-autumn-beer-festival-tickets-30727863868?aff=es2 Last year this event sold out almost four months in advance and we expect it to happen sooner this year, so get your tickets to the 2017 June Lake Autumn Beer Festival NOW Here's some upcoming events to mark on your calendar:

Winter is Here and it's Time to Drink Beer ~ Hey there Intraweb, it's been awhile and we're just recovering from our biggest summer yet. Between our tasting room and the dozen odd premium Mono County draft accounts we have, our capacity was maxed. We even had to stop bottling for a few months because the beer was flying off the floor faster than we could run it through the bottling machine. Not to worry we have big plans and will be expanding our tanks in 2017. Regardless great summer... Now it's time for winter! June Mountain opens Wednesday December 14th and we're all ready for a little local gravity induced snowshredding. In homage to the spiritual opening of June Mountain this Saturday December 10th, we'll be re-releasing our Carson Peak American Strong Ale. This is a monster 13% American Strong, dry hopped with 44lbs of Green Bullet and 44lbs of Mosaic (~3lbs per bbl for a 30bbl batch!). Also we will be releasing our annual Not So Hoppy Holiday Ale this Friday, December 9th (it's Not So Hoppy, picture Santa crying). This spiced spectacular will only be available in pours onsite (no to-go options), so drop by and sample some before the 25 gallons brewed on our OG pilot system are gone. The Archimedes Red and Rock-N-Dirt Milk Stout should also be returning around year's end, so get ready for some Hoppy Holidays! To Recap:

Two Wheeled Action ~ With the melting of the snow comes our second favorite activity - bikes! From amazing trails around the June Lake area, to the lift assisted gravity induced shred spectacle that is the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park, the Eastern Sierra has no lack of two wheeled awesomeness. This Friday (July 1st) marks the kickoff of the 2016 Village Championship Downhill (VCDH) series presented by Five Ten. Basically the series is comprised of ten Friday evening races between July 1st and September 9th at Mammoth Mountain Bike Park. Show up Fridays at 4pm to register in front of the Mammoth Mountain Adventure Center at Main Lodge, be at the race start at 5pm and get ready to rip. The races are free to enter (though you will need a bike park ticket, season pass or you can purchase a racers two upload pack for $8) and being JLB is running them we have super killer gear from our generous sponsors (e.g., Five Ten, Footloose, JLB, Oakley, GoPro, Giro, Sensus, etc.) to raffle to competitors at each race. Oh yeah and thanks to Mammoth Mountain, we've got killer after parties setup after each race with tasty apps, $3 JLB and happy hour pricing all night. To check this year's schedule and get more info check - http://www.mammothmountain.com/summer/bike-park/bike-park-events/vcdh Returning for a second year of carnage the USA Cycling Nationals will be taking over Mammoth Mountain Bike Park July 12th to July 17th. With a number of JLB TestPilots racing, including our Assistant Brewer Johnny Kimball defending his Cat 1 DH 30-34 National title, we will be heckling in full force. If you're interested in racing, volunteering as a course marshal, or participating in our JLB TestPilot Support Program, reply to this email and we'll get you dialed in. Finally after all of this we close out the bike season with the Kamikaze Bike Games (KBG). If you truly want to experience the utter chaos that is biking in the Eastern Sierra... KBG is not to be missed. With events for every ability level and discipline, KBG is a two wheeled circus for the whole family. Watch for the JLB TestPilots on the podium. Get Out on That Bike! Almost 2 ~ That's right, June Lake Brewing's 2nd anniversary is less than a week away, so get your party hat ready. Monday June 20th the festivities will kickoff at 6am with the start of the first ever Red Yeti Challenge. Victims will voluntarily self-orient to seven disparate beer stops where they will be required to fully consume a provided beer while being berated and discouraged by a member of the JLB Team. With $800 in cash prizes, 4,800' of ascent/decent and over 14 miles to cover, the Red Yeti Challenge will criple you. For those not into self punishment, the party will officially kickoff at 11am when we will open the expanded tasting biergarten (aka our parkinglot) to the frothing masses. With beer specials, food from Ohanas395, live music and a yet to be determined physical challenge, this will be a fun time for all. Oh yeah we'll also be releasing our limited edition 2nd Anniversary tshirt (only available in person, first come first serve), which is bound to sellout (check it out below). So be there Monday June 20th to witness history. For the anniversary we will be releasing our barrel aged version of the oh so popular Silver Lake Saison. We filled a couple of our Pinot Noir wine barrels with our saison and then food processed 20lbs of organic hand picked cherries from Apple Hill Ranch (just south of Bishop in Wilkerson) and poured that glorious slurry of yum straight into the barrels on top of the saison. Also we dosed one 15.5 gallon keg of Archimedes Red with Madagascar vanilla beans soaked in bourbon. Both of these beers will be unleashed on the public at the anniversary so be there. To recap Super Awesome Anniversary Happenings:

Spring into Good Beer ~ It's spring time in the Eastern Sierra and the water is flowing. This means good riding, amazing fishing and above all Super Awesome Beer! In just over a month we'll be celebrating our 2nd Anniversary by throwing a huge party and releasing a crazy version of our Silver Lake Saison we aged in Pinot Noir French oak barrels for five months. As if that wasn't enough we then dosed each barrel with around seven pounds of pureed cherries freshly picked from Apple Hill Ranch (located in Wilkerson just south of Bishop), and aged the mind melting concoction for another month in the barrels before packaging for your enjoyment. We also have a limited release single 15.5g keg of Archimedes Red Ale we dosed with concentrated Bourbon soaked Madagascar vanilla beans that we'll roll out for the 2nd Anniversary Monday, June 20th (Summer Solstice). Nearly Fishmas! Clearly not the Godzilla El Nino we were all hoping for; however we're back to normal snowpack levels (though it will take a couple more years of buildup before we're out of a drought situation). This means we can continue to make Super Awesome Beer! What's On Tap (*note, all are Super Awesome Beer) -

Miracle March? With the opening of the face at June Mountain, and a couple feet of snow in the first week of March, I'd say we're on track for a little more snowsliding before the season ends. So if you need an excuse to pack up the jalopy and head north on the 395, just tell your other responsibilities JLB said It's On! Well it's finally happening... We're making a wheat beer... I know what you're thinking - "Oh Hefeweizens sell so well, that's a smart business move" - but that's not what's going down here. Working with the JLA Project (memorial foundation setup in memory of Jeff "Jeffy" Lin Anderson to support the arts and general awesomeness in the Eastern Sierra), we're making the collaboration El Jeffe American Wheat beer. This is the JLB take on the American Wheat and Hefeweizen beer styles, and $1 of each bottle sold will be donated to the JLA Project to maintain the mind bending greatness of the Volcom Brothers Skatepark, and promote general awesomeness. Be ready for release of this dry hopped monster the first week of April leading up to the annual JLA Banked Slalom. Current Draft List:
